DESPITE the comics being needlessly violent and quite honestly terrible, there are a few moments where I can reasonably envision adding some aspects to my portrayal to Butcher. For instance, Rebecca "Becky" meeting William on the train for the first time after he had no doubt found a fight to be in. To where, she chuckles and comments that he "looks like a bit like a panda" due to his black eyes from the fight. THIS ALONE is what sparks Butcher to pursue a conversation with her and eventually they end up getting married after a few dates. Imagine being so angry for so long and finding someone that is not off put by the fights you've been in or the anger you've held on to for possibly decades. He just melts, lets himself be happy and as a result no longer drinks or causes brawls. My man straight up drinks his 'love my wife juice'. That's why its such a devastation when she is killed and why Butcher makes it his sole resolve to kill supes. The one light is snuffed out and there's hell to pay-- dare I say the moment where allll that anger returns twice fold. This is something that I don't think was quite portrayed that well in the Amazon Series? How dedicated he was to his wife in the flash backs that is. Clearly TV butcher was pretty moved in knowing that she was still alive in S2, however, it felt short lived? Even in S4 she is only a small piece of his psyche that was easily overpowered by Kessler. REGUARDLESS of the reasons for this change I just needed ya'll to know that COMIC butcher is a full wife worshiper!! Thank you for coming to my ted talk <3
