Little does Jason know but his mind whirls from behind his mask. Jason is making a deal with Batman, not Bruce Wayne. If he makes a deal with Jason as Batman, Batman can't report the child's worrisome presence on this street. However he could use one of Bruce Wayne's cars as bait and get him help that way. With a backup plan already forming in the depths of his mind, a gloved and armored hand accepts Jason's smaller hand. His grip is firm but not unrelentingly so. He has a feeling that if he gave the boy's hand anything but a firm grip the boy would take offense.

“Good thing you’re rich, then, ‘cause you’re gonna have to replace a lot of car parts.” Not to toot his own horn, but Jason’s pretty damn good at what he does. A bit of added security might make it harder to steal from the vehicle, but not impossible. He’s sure he can manage. “Batburger’s fine,” he shrugs, not caring all that much. All he really wants is some real food. Something hot and fresh and not fished out of a dumpster.

Bruce can't help but notice how firmly the boy shakes his hand. The boy's got a good grip -- likely the result of many nights of jacking tires. The hubcap is already off and he doesn't ask Jason to put it back on. He's got plenty of spares back in the cave. Jason can keep it. "I do have a lot of resources," he confesses, seeing no need to deny the obvious.

🗡️—-;; Thomas doesn't know how to explain it to Bruce in a way he'd understand. "I don't know, I know she's not well, hasn't been since we lost our son." He's not sure how to explain it, the fact that his mother had a psychotic break and hasn't recovered. Won't recover at this rate. He looked at Bruce again when he asked if seeing him would help. "No. I...no. It wouldn't help." He says to him and he shakes his head, "I'm worried she'd hurt you. Promise me if she comes here you'll hide."
