Please welcome Katherine Fisher to The Breathe Network's Board of Directors! Katherine is an Emmy nominated, and Gotham, Peabody, and GLAAD Award winning producer. She has over 14 years of experience producing narrative and documentary films, and planning and managing events and festivals. Katherine has worked throughout the United States, most recently in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, and at Standing Rock, North Dakota, as well as in the UK, Kenya, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2016, Katherine produced the acclaimed short film Ink - currently making the festival circuit - by award winning writer/director Rosie Haber and starring Isabelle Fuhrman (The Hunger Games, Masters Of Sex, Orphan) and Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant, The Miseducation of Cameron Post). In 2015, she produced the Emmy Nominated new media series Her Story directed by Sydney Freeland (Diedra & Laney Rob A Train, Drunktowns Finest) about the dating lives of trans and queer women in Los Angeles. She's produced music videos for Grammy nominated band Tegan and Sara, as well as indy darlings Spectacular Spectacular, and was the co-producer on the short film One Billion Rising which was featured at Sundance Film Festival in 2014. From 2004 – 2015 Katherine worked with V-Day, the worldwide movement to end violence against women and girls, where she was Events Director. Through V–Day her work includes events at The Apollo Theater, The Louisiana Superdome, The New Orleans Arena, The Manhattan Center, Studio 54, Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, and The Brooklyn Museum of Art. From 2013 – 2015 Katherine was the Communications and Special Events Director for One Billion Rising, a global initiative to raise awareness of—and end—violence against women which saw millions of activists in over 200 countries and territories come together for the largest day of action to end violence against women in history.
