Since Ralsei can see the menu presumably at all times, I really do think that “turning Ralseis off” doesn’t actually do anything besides let Ralsei see, in front of them, that Kris has opened the menu and chosen that option. Flowery’s pollen trick (through the power of being the action of an NPC in a cutscene that we have no control over) gives Ralsei a sufficient excuse to drop the act, an act they could have dropped at any time… but they didn’t, because that would be disrespecting “Kris’s decision.”
And you’ve just gotta wonder if that kind of conviction will last for the rest of the story… one of the game’s Big Mysteries that I’m personally interested in is how much Ralsei actually knows about Kris’s situation; and if Ralsei does know fully about Us, how well they can actually distinguish between what Kris wants and what We want, or if they’re just guessing based on any subtleties they pick up on
