“Nobaraaa!” You search through the basket and whine. “Where is my ribbon for the ball!?”
“What ribbon?” She shouts back. You’re only partially dressed with less than an hour left to dress. You need to leave as soon as possible, but never with such a dreadful appearance. You need your ribbon now.
Nobara’s footsteps stampede towards you, and you brush your hands over your ears just to make sure they’re soft-rounded and not pointy. A force of habit when you’re constantly concealing your identity.
“Can you tie my corset, please?” Her back faces you. You swallow and try not to stare at her waist.
“Of course.” You step forward, tightening her corset. Nobara thanks you and pulls on her dress, twirling and grinning.
“Do you think this is enough to get a filthy rich noble?” You force a smile.
“More than enough-,” -but I wish I were enough for you. You keep the last bit to yourself.
Once you’re done, the two of you rush towards your carriage. You step in first, holding out your hand for Nobara. She takes it and you try not to think about how warm her hand is. The coachman takes off, the horses neighing as they gallop away.
“Hopefully we’re not late to Gojo’s ball,” Nobara says. “I need to talk to Megumi and Itadori.” You nod. While Gojo is late to his own balls, you two can’t afford to do the same.
Your mind drifts away and you stare at the scenery outside. But an approaching figure has you frowning- no, multiple approaching figures. What’s going on?
“Nobara-,” the carriage shakes and spins before you can finish. You scream as the carriage topples over, the horses crying out as Nobara shouts in surprise. You bang your head on the roof and groan. Has your carriage been hijacked?
“Y/N!” Nobara shouts as the carriage finally stops, unsheathing her hammer from her thigh holster. “Stay still. I’ll investigate what’s going on.”
Before you can stop her, she leaps out of the carriage. You flinch as you hear shouting, kicking, and fighting. But then the door on your right swings open, and you yelp as you’re dragged out harshly.
“Nobara!” You cry out but the figure slaps their hand on your mouth, muffling your screams.
“Not so fast,” they drag you to the other side of the carriage and you see Nobara. She’s tied up, blood leaking from her mouth as she kneels on the ground. When she meets your gaze, her eyes widen.
“The rumors were true!” The blue-haired man behind her exclaims, and you grimace at the sight of his scarred body. Can a person have that many stitches? He looks like a failed attempt at Frankenstein’s monster.
“There’s a faerie in Tokyo’s Jujutsu High.” Your heart drops, mouth growing dry as the man grins. “And we finally have her.”
The figure holding you down moves their hand, and you can’t help the pitiful words that leave your lips. “Please- I’ll do anything! You can have my blood, my tears, anything- just let Nobara go.”
The figure behind you laughs and kneels to your height. It’s a man with a wicked grin, black hair, and a stitch running horizontally across his forehead. “Well, aren’t you brave?” The look in his eyes has you squirming. “Giving it all for the safety of her friend.”
You bite down a whimper. You meet Nobara’s gaze, her eyes widened and fists clenched.
“Y/N…” she sounds like she’s in shock. “You’re a faerie?” You’re too ashamed to respond.
“Oh?” The man behind you squeezes your shoulders, and you shiver in disgust. “She didn’t know? Oh my, what a surprise!” He runs his hands over your shoulders, and you almost sob at the feeling of him stroking your sharp-tipped ears.
Nobara growls, struggling against the grip of the stitched man.
“Let me go, you bastard!” Dirt kicks up at her struggles but you refuse to look up.
“Hm...why should I?” You want to punch him.
“If you don’t, I swear I’ll gut both of you and rip your skin from your body until you’re screaming and twisting for mercy.” Her threat has a shiver running down your spine, knowing it’s anything but fake. When Nobara promises to do something, she will do it.
“How lovely,” The man behind you purrs. “But Mahito and I don’t have time for that. Come on, leave the girl and let’s go.” The blue-haired man sighs but releases Nobara. You glance at Nobara with tears in your eyes. She’s still tied up, but she groans and struggles against the ropes.
The man called Mahito pulls you into his arms and carries you back to the carriage. You try to hold back your cries as he pushes you in, steps inside, and closes the door behind him. The other man goes to the front and grabs the reins of the horses.
You’re probably going to die and you’re terrified. As a faerie, death isn’t exactly a thing; you don’t die of old age. But ever since you’ve been forced into hiding, you’ve thought about nothing but death. You could be killed into an alley, stripped of your eyes and tongue, and sold into a black market.
“Don’t worry,” Mahito smiles. “We’re not going to kill you.” His words aren’t any help. You wish you’d resisted more. But you have no formal fighting training- not yet, at least. What were you supposed to do?
“What do you want with me?” Your voice is barely above a whisper, lips trembling. “If you’re not going to kill me.”
“You’ll see soon…” he has the look of a mad man. “Very soon.”
You can’t do much but wrap your arms around your chest and swallow your sobs.

You don’t know where you are. You look out the carriage’s window but don’t recognize any of your surroundings. There’s nothing but black, rotting, and dying trees, which makes you think you’re in one of the Forbidden Forests- which means you’re in a forest full of monsters. You shiver.
A bump on the road makes you jump. Mahito says nothing, but then the carriage slightly bounces again. And again. He sneers, banging on the front window.
“Geto! What’s going on?”
No response.
Your stomach churns. What if one of the monsters ate Geto and it’s coming for you now?
Footsteps approach you. The glass window comes crashing down, and chaos is unleashed. You see a flurry of movement, and you quickly recognize the two heads of chestnut brown and strawberry pink hair. They’re here.
Mahito is gone in a flash, and you’re left inside the carriage as Itadori and Nobara stare you down.
“Y/N!” The boy says cheerfully. “I’m glad you’re okay.” He pays no mind to your elf ears or the strange color of your eyes. Knowing Itadori, he probably still hasn’t noticed.
You smile. Then you turn to Nobara, who’s looking at you strangely. You hear Gojo call Itadori’s name, and the boy leaves the carriage, leaving Nobara and you alone. Looking down at your hands, you twist them in your lap.
“Why did you hide it from me?” You swallow the lump that forms in your throat.
“It was too dangerous to tell you,” you lower your gaze. “I wasn’t sure…”
“If you trusted me?” It hurts to say the truth but you nod.
“I didn’t think you would come for me,” you admit, finally gathering the courage to meet Nobara’s gaze.
“I promised to never leave you behind, didn’t I?” She kneels in front of you, and you stare at her flushed face. Her hands grab yours and your face grows hot.
“Thank you.” You try to fight back the tears stinging in your eyes. A sniff escapes your lips, and Nobara is quick to pull you into her arms.
“I was so scared,” you sob into her neck. “I thought I was going to die.”
“Shh…” one of her hands goes to your waist, holding you tightly. “It’s okay now. I’m here, lovely. You’re safe. I’m not letting you go ever again,” You slowly pull apart and you can’t help but look at her soft and plump lips. How would they feel against yours? Would Nobara’s hands trail all over your body?
You wonder if you’re dreaming when Nobara leans forward, gently pressing her lips against yours. You eagerly lean forward, hands going to the back of her neck. You fight back a smile, trying to hold onto the moment and never let go. You would stay like this forever and never let go if you could.
“Oi, lovebirds! Break it up. We’ve got a ball to attend.” Gojo peaks into the carriage, grinning cockily. You scoff and Nobara chuckles, slowly pulling apart.
“You heard him,” she steps out of the carriage, extending her hand towards you. “We have a ball to attend, my lady.” You take her hand and smile. Maybe getting kidnapped was a good thing after all...
