Remember the guy wailing about his gut in āWe Donāt Talk About Brunoā? Heās the delivery guy from the beginning of the movie who gave Mirabel the ānot special specialā. Yes, I rewatched both of his scenes to make sure. I donāt remember his name, but he was kind of an ass to Mirabel imo. Anyways, now I have this idea in my head that Bruno, before he vanished, passed by delivery guy on the street shortly after Mirabelās gift ceremony, made some sort of disparaging comment about his niece having no gift, intentional or not, and Bruno just point blank tells that fucker heās gonna get fat. Something like:
Delivery guy horking down his 20th arepa: āHey Bruno, tell your niece no hard feelings about her bust of a gift ceremony. Iām gonna name a new deal after her: āThe ānot specialā special!ā
Bruno, dramatically acting out seeing a vision while channeling tranquil fury: āI see you.....ā (Looks delivery guy dead in the eyes) āGrowing a gut.ā
Delivery guy:
We know that Bruno is a sweet, harmless dork, if a little socially awkward. But you canāt convince me that if someone insults his family, heās not gonna get them where it hurts. Especially where his emotionally scarred, five-year-old niece is concerned.
