EMS SYNTHI 100. I recently had the pleasure of photographing Melbourne Uni’s incredible 1971 Synthi 100 for the “Synthesizers:- Sounds of the Future” exhibition. As the unit is huge, immeasurably valuable, and unable to be transported easily, we produced an (almost) 1:1 scale cut out of it. It looks so good, what a thrill. I gave the old girl a bit of a clean up in photoshop, and Les Craythorn (pictured) who spent years lovingly restoring it actually couldn’t believe how good it looked.
