#Emojiathon Update! I finally finished Half-Resurrection Blues by Daniel José Older at 11:15p on September 24th. So sadly too late to start Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews, as I'm desperate for sleep after finishing this book. 😕😴 . . . . Even more sadly, this was one of very few Urban Fantasy stories that I did NOT at least really enjoy. It was only a three-star story for me. 😕⭐⭐⭐ . . . . I just really struggled to stay awake through almost the entire book. I think I might even have taken a nap - or, at least, I "rested my eyes" - around page 300 (of 326!)! 😴😴😴 . . . . So this two-star okay story gets an added star because it was theoretically well-written. It just failed to hold my interest! So I don't think I'll continue the Bone Street Rumba series. 😕 . . . . I'm not going to share updated Stats to Date, because I've lost count on what all I've read this past week. Goodreads was last updated when I finished Magic Bites, Kate Daniels series book ONE! I need to update it with Kate Daniels series books 2, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.3, and 5.4, the four Contemporary stories I read during last week's Contemporaryathon, and now Half-Resurrection Blues! 😨😨😨 . . . . Okay, so I think I've got it all figured out. UPDATED STATS TO DATE: 6,443 pages read, 24 stories completed, 21 reading challenges DONE! And BINGO called x4! 😄🎉📚❤ . . . . Half-Resurrection Blues was added to the "😅 read a book you said you were going to read but never did" square (even though it turns out that I last tried this book on audio in April of 2017; I could have sworn it was longer ago than that) AND the "🤦‍♀️ give an author a second chance" square (because I last tried to read this book in April 2017 but abandoned the audio at 52% of the way through it). 😊❤ . . . . #Emojiathon and #Contemporaryathon Update! I completed another two squares for #Emojiathon and I'm DONE with #Contemporaryathon! 😄🎉❤ . . . . First, for #Emojiathon, yesterday I read Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews for the "⭐ read a five-star predicted book" square - and it WAS a five-star book for me! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ . . . . And then today I read Giant Days, Vol. One, by John Allison and Lissa Treiman (⭐⭐⭐) for the "🍺 read a book that takes place in college" square. 😊🎉 . . . . #Emojiathon Stats to Date: 6,011 pages read, 21 stories completed, 19 reading challenges DONE! Also, I didn't even notice that the last time I posted I HAD A BINGO! The B column is FULL! Sooo... BINGO!!! 😄🎉❤ . . . . I am aiming for a BLACKOUT BINGO, though, so I'll be reading Half-Resurrection Blues by Daniel José Older for a couple of squares next. Probably. I am so happy to finally be reading this 10th and final book in the Kate Daniels series! 😄🎉😍❤ . . . . Photo Two shares a better image of my Max. 😍❤😍 . . . . Photo Three shares the book I'm reading today with the book I read yesterday. I finished Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews, book five in the Kate Daniels series, last night (September 20th) at 11:20p. 😊😍❤ . . . . Also in Photo Three is the latest view of my bruise, now 216 hours old. The clear spot in the middle is growing and the surrounding bruise is yellowing and fading at last. 😊🎉❤ . . . . And lastly, Photo Four was taken last night, after I finished Magic Slays at 11:20p. I finished it in the living room with my Max asleep near me. 😊😍❤😍 . . . . Magic Slays gets five stars from me and I'm expecting Magic Triumphs to be a five-star read, too! So Magic Triumphs is my book for #Emojiathon's "⭐ read a five-star predicted book" square. 😄😍❤ . . . . I MIGHT get back to my #Contemporaryathon reading today, too. #Contemporaryathon (and #Emojiathon) Update! I finished my third book (around 7:10p) and I only have ONE challenge left to complete! 😄🎉📚😍❤ . . . . For #Contemporaryathon, I read Goldie Vance, Volume Two, by Hope Larson and Brittney Williams. This book was good, too, but once again I didn't love it. I'll give it four stars, but this series will sadly not be entering into my personal collection. 😕⭐⭐⭐⭐ . . . . This book works for, as said above, TWO challenges! The 3rd and 4th ones: "Read a diverse contemporary" and "Read a contemporary in a non-traditional format." 😉😊❤ . . . . My #Contemporaryathon Stats to Date are now: 511 pages read, 3 books completed, 6 reading challenges DONE! 😄🎉❤ . . . . Earlier (at 6:05p) I finished Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews. This story was most excellent, but it provides the second ding against Curran for me. Still though, five stars. 😊⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐❤ . . . . I'll probably read it tonight, if I can find it, since it's now only 7:55p. 🤔❤ . . . . I won't have another book read for an #Emojiathon challenge until I get to Kate Daniels book six, Magic Rises, and before I can read it I need to read story 4.5, book five, book 5.5, and THEN book six. Although I want to say there's another short story in between books four and six, so it might take me awhile.
