Because Literature, That's Why

Hi everyone - long time no see :) Now, I’m not leaving, not really. But, yeah, I am leaving this blog behind me.

I’m amazed at how far BecauseLiteratureThatsWhy has come, in seven years. I didn’t think this blog would ever grow as much as it did - I’m currently sitting at 4400+ followers right now, a number I never imagined I’d reach. I don’t know how many of you are still here, after nearly a year and a half of scattered inactivity, but this post is for those of you who are.

It’s a bit of a bittersweet moment for me, but I’ve decided to go ahead and move on from this blog. I’ve enjoyed sharing photos and songs and artwork and quotes that I found beautiful, or moving, or inspirational here, and it’s served me in a number of ways. Inspired me to get back into reading for fun; helped me to realize I’d be much happier as an English major rather than study Chemistry; introduced me to new ideas and people and books. It’s no small thing to say it helped me become who I am today.

But I’ve gone through some major life changes this past year and a half, and while I don’t want to leave Tumblr altogether, I have decided to leave BecauseLiteratureThatsWhy behind me.

In short, I want to give myself a fresh start of sorts, you know? I’m not going to delete or deactivate this blog, not just yet – I do want to keep it as an archive of the past seven years. Maybe I’ll come back one day, with a different blog - if I do, I’ll be sure to let you all know :)
