Although I am one of the first in the UK to be assessed and graded it is really important that MMA coaches up and down the country get on board and follow the path. IMMAF have developed a thorough and well structured pathway for both coaches and students which creates an international standard. For coaches this goes way beyond just knowledge and the application of techniques. Students whose clubs are under an IMMAF national federation now have a much needed global syllabus and belt grading system that will drive the sport forward massively. I am looking forward to continuing my professional development through the IMMAF pathway and working through the levels and bringing my fellow coaches at @newwaveacademymma on board. As soon as things open up again the next step is to start grading our first sets of kids, teens and adults under the MMA syllabus. A big thank you to @spenfu and @mariespencer2809 at @englishmmaa for putting me on the path. If you’re currently delivering MMA in the UK or wish to become a coach in the future then this will be very relevant for you. Coaches who engage with the programme will receive funding for their club and access the coaching pathway once it’s released at cost.
