(x) This drawing was based on a photograph (source unknown). I spend a lot of time thinking about the ubiquity and default nature of the male gaze, and I then try to contemplate what a counteractive female gaze would look like. What would be the defining characteristics? Is the wlw gaze that objectifies the female body equivalent to the male gaze that does the same? Or is the wlw gaze more nuanced at its core, with a deep sense of understanding and reverence attached to the sexualization of the female form, and therefore by definition, is incomparable to the male gaze?
