MORE THAN..just a black man. . . One of the answers I received from my question I asked black men, What makes you feel empowered and loved? “I want to be seen more than just a black man. Last night I participated in an art show in LA! IN LA!!! And won a competition to have my art displayed at @sweet_blessings_ . Ya girl is officially on the west coast 😭. It was an amazing experience to be featured alongside really dope artists 😍. . . The Daughter of an Orisha, is an acrylic painting about my unique story which revolves around enlightenment, self healing, divine love, and self acceptance. In the painting a woman is opening chest to reveal the many layers of the woman that she is to become that further leads to the divine gateway to god. In a safe space she heals herself in a pool of water surrounded by giant crystals and embraces her scars from past experiences and traumas to accepting growth and leading with divine love. . I’m super proud of this piece and I hope it continues to give divine love and light to others as much as it does for me. Believe it or not she’s still a WIP, but I couldn’t help but share what I have so far.
