1.the act of freeing or state of being freed; liberation

As the descendant of both freed slaves AND the people who owned them, this holiday is super special. I'm living proof that we have always bled the same. Freedom didn't come free for this country, and that does not apply more than to the people who had to watch the Independence Day celebrations from their chains.

God-given freedom should be celebrated by everyone, black, white, or anything in between. So throw up a flag and celebrate with me!
