Yknow what really pisses me off? I just learned how to use em-dashes in the correct grammatical structure. I’m studying grammer and I know how to use them now, so obviously I’ll be wanting to use said em-dashes to show off my knowledge. But. Now it’s a sign of AI. Fuck AI, let me show off my grammer skills in peace 😠

Sometimes I think I'm so cool and quirky and niche because the em-dash is my favorite punctuation mark but then I take one of those Writeblr polls and I am thrust back to the reality that I am but another faceless, nameless writer guy who likes em-dashes because they're cool and quirky and niche.

idk if you need to hear this (i know i certainly need to remind myself of this a LOT) it’s entirely unfair to be comparing your WIP to your favourite author’s books. you’re looking at books that have gone through multiple drafts and rounds of editing by professionals, while yours is a work in progress. of course the two won’t compare, so don’t stress about your writing being different or not being up to par with a published author! keep working hard at it, and you’ll get there!!
