actually it remains patently insane to me that it's a fact that thingol and melian are just out there in valinor and very much have the capacity if not the desire to create more unprecedented part-elf part-cosmic demiurge babies. and it remains a very amusing headcanon of mine that everyone including the valar are perpetually uneasy whenever they witness or hear about thingol and melian getting canoodly with each other because everybody fears the seismic waves another demigod gremlin will make in the fabric of arda. like luthien already shattered the ceiling with enough force to atomize the pieces left in her wake, please do not subject the world to the chaos and confusion of a little sibling thingol and melian listen to us look here you two PLEASE
more seriously, i think they might joke about or seriously discuss it but at the end of the day they don't want to have any more kids. it's not just that the creation of another such being is too taxing on their spirits, but also that they understand that deep down they would be looking for their daughter and trying to fill the hole she left in their hearts, and that wouldn't be fair to her nor to the hypothetical child

Tolkien: Elwe and Olwe had a brother called Elmo
Me: I am a serious adult taking things seriously
Me:
Me:
What she says: Iâm fine.
What she means: The constant woobification of FĂ«anor and his sons and the constant Noldor bias in the fandom has really made it difficult for me to actually enjoy the FĂ«anorians and most of the Noldor as characters. It really doesnât help that a lot of people like to demonize the Sindar for so many reasons. These fans wonât extend the same grace they give to the FĂ«anorians to Sindarin characters like Thingol, who made mistakes but at least tried to make amends for them, unlike FĂ«anor and his sons. In addition, their need to demonize Beren and LĂșthien is honestly appalling, because it shows a fundamental misunderstanding of their story and the broader themes of the Silmarillionâ that there is hope in the world thatâs worth fighting for. And furthermore, the constant demonization and victim-blaming of Dior and Elwing is genuinely unsettling, especially when the FĂ«anorians are pitied for the crimes they committed. Lastly, their obsession with property rights and the Silmarils, and their willingness to justify the Kinslayings shows that these people have not truly read or understood the text, and they probably donât want to properly understand it.

FINWĂ AND THINGOL
This post is dedicated to the friendship between Finwë and Thingol (Elwë), the most underrated in the fandom in my opinion
Finwë: Adventurous, gallant, ardent, rhetorically skilled, rebellious, independent, heretical (This is mainly in his youth)
Thingol: Complex, prideful, and authoritative figure, extreme possessiveness, often described as arrogant yet fundamentally noble, he is sincere in what he loves
And Tolkien calls them great friends
And I've collected quotes about them:
Silmarillion:
"And the host of the Teleri passed over the Misty Mountains, and crossed thewide lands of Eriador, being urged on by Elwë Singollo, for he was eager toreturn to Valinor and the Light that he had beheld; and he wished not to be sundered from the Noldor, for he had great friendship with Finwë their lord."
"Elwë, lord of the Teleri, went often through the great woods to seek out Finwë his friend in the dwellings of the Noldor"
"and Finwë grieved when the Teleri came not, and yet more when he learned that Elwë was forsaken, and knew that he should not see him again, unless it were in the halls of Mandos."
The Nature of Middle-earth:
"ElwĂ« would prefer the âlesser light, and shadowsâ of Endor, but will follow FinwĂ« his friend."
"ElwĂ« says: âI will go with my friend, but I do not choose for anyone but myself..."
Also information that Finwë and Elwë are from the same generation but Finwë is older than Elwë
Morgoth's ring:
"At this time Elwë strayed in the woods of Beleriand and was lost, and his people sought him long in vain. For as he journeyed homeward from a meeting with Finwë, he passed by the borders of Nan Elmoth."
"In this year Ulmo hearkened to the prayers of Finwë and went again to Middle-earth to bring Elwë and his people to Aman, if they would come."
They are opposites to each other: in appearance, character, family status, and fate
Their heraldic are the winged sun and moon
FinwĂ« has five children and two marriages, while ElwĂ« has only one daughter and one marriage. But both have incredible children their likes were not born again in Arda (FĂ«anor and LĂșthien)
Their descendants slew each other, but eventually their two families united thanks to Elwing and EĂ€rendil. This union created an incredible force that had a profound impact on the history of Middle-earth
Never forget that Beren and LĂșthien are a short-guy/tall-girl relationship. Her dad was literally the tallest Child of IlĂșvatar in history. No way she didnât tower over her husband by at least a whole foot (30 cm) - and no way that didnât make her husband only love her more.
