I made a thing! Illustrations about the story of the silmarils in red-figure pottery style. It was fun to work on such a large scale.

An honor to paint Melian for dear @micelilies. I was asked to depict her with long flowing hair, ethereal grace, and clad in blue or green. I hope I did justice to your vision. Looking forward to more art trades in the future!

Something, something. Moth Melian.

Do you people headcanon her as a maia of Yavanna, Vána, or Estë? Or all of them, or just two? Sometimes she is said to be of Yavanna´s, other times Vána and Estë, but the consistency of her is that she is “alike” to Yavanna.

I just can´t see her as a Maia of Este, although I can see her waiting in Lórien for Thingol, after waiting in Mandos, and she was said to tend the gardens of Lórien once.
