There’s an undertone of panic in Assire’s voice, and she knows it. She knows it, and she doesn’t care, momentarily lost against the onslaught of the emotion. Her hands are clutching Rita’s wrists, her eyes bright, full of fear, but there’s something else there, too. Defiance. 

“As far as anyone knows, I’m dead. And I need it to stay that way. If word of my survival spreads to Nilfgaardian ears... “

She collects herself, releases Rita’s hands, crosses her arms over her chest. Assire’s gaze wanders, affixes to something far away, her face once more inscrutable.

A Lodge Mood

 Philippa listens, head tilted slightly to the side, eyes narrowed, seemingly absentminded as she turns the heavy gold rings on her fingers. This is interesting indeed, both the problem and the person asking the question. She has taken notice of Keira Metz – not unexpectedly, the young sorceress from Carreras is basically crying out to be noticed, to make an impression, to draw attention to herself. Philippa’s interest, however, is anything but carnal – although she can certainly appreciate Keira’s aesthetic appeal, it’s her potential that has drawn the elder magician’s eye. A potential that is currently in the process of getting squandered at a rapid rate.

Being consulted on matters of an arcane, intellectual nature is a pleasant surprise.

“I think I know what you mean, dear.” She nods, remembering the difficulties she encountered herself when she was working on solidifying her illusions. “And your answer is that you’re overthinking things, most likely. You’re pressuring yourself to create something real. This isn’t conjuration, it’s illusion. Embrace the fakeness. Expand upon it. Listen, I will show you what I mean.”
