I didn't watch the last c!q stream we got and this is not a criticism about ccs, simply a realisation :
I thinn the dsmp is dead to me, in an author way. No ccs right now will be able to bring it back to life/to continue it because the group that made it simply blow-up. They can keep their characters of course, they are theirs, but as of it actually being lore ? I think the dsmp worked because all the characters and writers had to work together. It doesn't work if they all do stuff separately (only exception being c!Karl thanks to his time travel) in disregard of the others writers, like separate series. And I guess that's why all the lore streams we had lately just felt like fanfictions to me despite being made by the ccs.
I agree completely. The dsmp had its ending. It's not that I don't want it to continue, it's that it literally can't continue—as far as I can tell, a lot of the ccs aren't on good terms anymore. At this point, any one person taking the story into their own hands years after its death almost feels like desecrating a grave.
I think that most of the ccs involved still have a lot of respect for the story they created together, and I would never suggest otherwise. I actually never finished watching Jack's stream, but it was nice to see that even he still cared a little about the server even after making fun of it. Even Karl's time travel was discussed with the other streamers! It just feels like the people coming back to the server—without anyone else's input—are coming back to it with a different lens than when the story was actually in motion, without others to direct or mitigate their vision, so there will always be something about it that doesn't feel quite right.
ive been thinking about this but cdream wasn't hiding his motives about wanting to recover his friends and the simple times, he has talked before Even if we can't know how honest he was about wanting the server to be a Big happy family. But it was such a revelation to Even cpunz who cdream worked with and the only person outside of cranboo he lets close enough to work with him in his plan very closely. So why cdream was kinda being secretive about it Even if he mentioned something similar before? Tbh i personally believe it can be bc admitting You want everyone to be a like a family, you're just saying You want everyone to get along in some way. But admitting wanting friends and wanting to recover your old friends and simple times, is admitting You Lost them. And cdream seems clingying a lot to the idea he didn't lost his Friends or the simple times completly. Look how he wanted cgeorge to visit or thought csapnap would give him his armour Even if csapnap on the Prison showed he would never do that. Even in how he tretas cpunz with certain distance Even if he knows he also cares about him, as if he doesn't trust friendship anymore of doesn't want to accept the change in how them see each other from before. Cdream is someone we know hates and fears change. Like cdream doesn't want to admit he Lost everything and things arent and won't be like before.
Idk i've been thinking about this a lot latetly idk if i'm getting towards something but i just find thinking about why cdream acts or says or thinks some things so interesting
Yeah! It's interesting because it's an idea that c!Dream has repeated a lot, no matter who he's talking to, but he kind of stops repeating it after the prison. In my opinion, he's not exactly keeping his goals a secret, he just doesn't see a point in telling people who won't listen. Like, post-prison, his relationships are beyond repair. He isn't able to talk to most people without the risk of it turning into a physical altercation. Plus, yeah, the message of "let's all be nice to each other" does somewhat conflict with the Evil TM persona he built for himself, so that's one less reason to be flaunting it.
These are some really good points. Dream is definitely terrified of change, and he's completely unable to admit that his old life is long gone.
Sometimes I hc a backstory for c!Q that he was abandoned by his rich father and aimed to surpass him while being twice the man he ever was (obviously he failed)
He could definitely pass for a little rich kid, especially an abandoned little rich kid. Feeling like he's entitled to privileges that he never had. He also has middle sibling energy.

If you took post prison c!dream, who has gone through all the abuse and torture that happened in Pandora and who has experienced the trauma that left him with, and you pulled him back in time to when the staged finale happened (maybe right after c!Tommy killed him the first time?). Do you think he would go through with the plan? Or would he decide it's not worth it and escape?
Oooh, interesting! Because—c!Dream thinks of the staged finale and the prison plan as necessary, obviously. He thinks of it as the only option for his and Punz's survival. But he mostly thinks of it that way because he had to live with that decision. When your own plan goes wrong and hurts you immeasurably, hurts you in ways you never imagined, you're probably going to Have to see it as necessary, because that's the easiest way to deal with all that pain and regret.
So, if Dream didn't have to live with that decision anymore, I think his viewpoint could change. It's not like he Wants to go through all that. But he'd only take the way out if he had another, better idea. Abandoning the staged finale means that he still needs to find a way to separate from Punz, and he still needs to find a way to take the prison back as a base. But in the heat of the moment, it's possible that he just decides he's smart enough to work all of that out later, and he runs.
This might actually be the kind of push Dream would need to finally start processing what happened in prison, and to acknowledge how much it still affects him—because he has no reason to try and bury it anymore. (On the other hand, the pain might run deep enough that he refuses to consider anything else. If suffering is temporary, suffering is okay.)
what's your favorite dsmp analysis posts? can be your own or someone else's
Oh, hi! Sorry for holding onto this for so long ahsjkek.
It's a great question and normally I'd have an answer, but I feel like at his point I've been away for too long to have any idea what's happening anymore. So I'm just going to take the easy road and say that the community in general has some wonderful analysis :)
Hheheyeyehyehey wait a second, did you want your hat back? The continuity, elm, you gotta keep me updated ! Could destroy the space time continuum if two hats exist at once 🤔
Actually, I bought an identical new hat almost a week ago, and I've been secretly smiling to myself for every day that you didn't notice.
