#ellis wuffstein

My first mass attack! Started as a piece just with Ellis and the sad blue one that quickly spiralled out of control.

Finally finished the pride piece I was working on. Truthfully, this wasn't going to be a pride piece originally. I had come up with the idea of the immediate family (the Wuffsteins) of my main oc all in one piece. But then pride month started, and I came up with something better.

This is the LAST CHARACTER REFERENCE i am drawing. Nyzak and Elchanan be damned they can have placeholder pics.

Ellis has had it rough. He barely made it through highschool and into college. He was bullied, of course. The middle of three, where the oldest was on both the basketball and the football team, and the youngest was getting accolades for musical talent and intelligence. Not to mention his er..."weight problem." (There really wasnt one, but he and some poor words from his doctor convinced him there was.) Directionless, he only went to college because of pressure from the parents. And, as some backwards way to prove that actually, hes not depressed at all. He has no idea what he's pursuing yet, so instead, he focusses on the partying, the freedom, but mostly the partying. It was a great distraction.

And it all goes wrong.

One night, at a particularly rowdy frat house party he managed to get into, a group of boys, doing keg stands and lighting off fire crackers, ignited the whole frat house. And Ellis, among a few others, including the boy toy he'd bagged, get trapped inside. Most everyone gets out ok, some smoke in the lungs, a few scattered injuries, but more mental scarring than anything else. But Ellis...

In trying to escape, the ceiling gives way, and he gets trapped under debris. He tries to free himself, his boyfriend tries to free him, but his leg has been mangled. By the time the firefighters get to him, they have to amputate on the spot just to get him out before the rest of the poorly maintined building crumbles around them.

It takes him a long time to recover, and in the process, his mental state tanks lower than its ever been. Even with the addition of his newly, and wonderfully trained service wyvern, he still struggles. Now with the addition of a missing limb, and some pretty severe ptsd, its not long before, in a fit of desperation, he ends up hospitalized once more. This time, from a failed, poorly thought through attempt. He's lucky his older brother came home in time. After recovering in the hospital bed, almost immediately he's institutionalized, Elchanan just... couldn't stand to see his little brother like this.

By the time he gets out, hes skinny as a twig and only slightly better than before. At least, hes not attempting anymore. I imagine he spent a few months there, and at some point stopped returning Elchanan's calls. And when he gets out...he doesnt tell Elchanan. Figures he was enough of a burden before, best not add to it. He ends up on the streets, coasting from bench to bench, alley to alley, and the occasional couch and shelter when the elements are too much for his sickly body.

It takes him ending up hospitalized a third time before Elchanan finally manages to track him down.

And its there, Elchanan, staring at his sickly, both physically and mentally, broken down brother, that he says enough is enough. No more being locked away, no more streets, you're coming home with me. And I'm going to make SURE, you get the help you need.

And, to his credit...it works

I've been in a bit of a slump, so to try and get back into it I grabbed a bunch of pose references and did some doodles for fun!
