My biggest cope is hoping they might reference, mention or God even put Elfe into FF7 Revelations I mean asking for anything related to Before Crisis is a tall order to start butttt Before Crisis FINALLY got an English translation through Ever Crisis so I can dream okay
I'm so glad to see that everyone enjoyed seeing Elfe. I was really nervous about including her because a lot of people probably don't know who she is, and I was worried I wasn't going to do her justice. But I've gotten a lot of positive feedback about her in comments and dms, and I really appreciate it. š¤
Glad EC canonized Shears' big naturals
UAHSGSH BY THE TIME ELFE CHALLENGED HIM, HE BELIEVED HIS MOTHER WAS DEAD. HIS OLD REASON TO FIGHT AND FIND HER WAS LONG GONE AND HE WAS FIGHTING FOR NOTHINGā
The other HUGE truth that he obviously didnāt realize yet was that he had never been fighting for his real mother to begin with, and he was just a tool and pawn. But he wouldnāt find that out until the library soā¦.he really thought he was fighting for her all those yearsā¦and even then he was aimless when he thought she was dead. He just accepted it for the time, I guess. His mind was too conditioned and reliant on Shinra or somethingā¦.
(The user Daystar_Z on Twitter shared these pics with me, but if the original credit goes to someone else, please lemme know!)

I suddenly remembered the existence of A Softer World, so I went and dug up all my edits for A Softer Final Fantasy and I'm inflicting them on all of you today.
Would my ff7 blorbos own Stanley cups
Elfe: starting with my most gorgeous beautiful avalanche princess I can safely say that she would NOT own a stanley. Veld bought her one after they were reunited because āgirls like them rightā and the amount of primordial rage and fear she felt the moment she saw it was unforgettable. My babygirl hates capitalism and since they have become one of the biggest waving flags for it, she could NOT be found near one, even dead <3333
Rufus: now this one <3333333 of course he owns a stanley <33333 he owns the company <33333 he produces them <33333 he even has a stanley backpack and a million of little accessories for it and flaunts them with every single chance he has <33333333 he thinks people who donāt own them are poor and should die <3 post meteorfall, while not that obnoxious, he has kept his collection and loves to spend hours looking at it because it reminds him of the power he once had
Sephiroth: I wonāt lie Iām not entirely sure about him. On one hand he absolutely hates them because come onnnnnnn. On the other he likes having nice things even if he wonāt ever admit it out loud. Letās say that Genesis got him one as a gift and while Sephiroth was weirded out and never drank from it, he kept it in his room and just. Stared at it. At night. Thinking what are we.
Reeve: oooooooooh another one that has me lowkey conflicted. I think that if we let this guy live his life to the fullest truest extend weād see that heās either a textbook soccer mom or a redneck. Either way I think he would also be conflicted about stanley cups himself. I think he was also gifted one at a shinra event and like he thought āwell we canāt let it go to wasteā and used it as a water bottle. He likes to buy little accessories for it and personalize it cause well, he has it now might as well enjoy it. He does feel a little guilty about it though :(
Tseng: no one knows the evils of capitalism better than Tseng in my humble opinion. No one has helped the evils of capitalism move forward more than Tseng himself. He owns a stanley cup because he hates himself.
How do you feel about sephirothās scenes in before crisis? Thereās only a couple but I was wondering what your opinion on them is
I think they're beautifully written. I can only rely on what I've seen and read from the translations, but it seemed like it gives us a nice taste of Sephiroth's identity crisis. I really loved his portrait in BC too. To me, it seems he's stoic, but at the same time, he looks lost and almost depressed.
I think the first scene of him in BC is when he effortlessly slaughtered a dangerous beast... It amazed us, but to him, it was just another Tuesday. He didn't care of how strong he is getting. And he certainly didn't care about Hojo fawning over him either... He was just living his life as a dutiful weapon up until he met her. I really loved his interaction with Elfe about his purpose and it made me wonder if it will be brought up in Rebirth since humanizing Sephiroth is the goal in that game? Also, the way Elfe made Sephiroth flustered is very cute.
And I'll never forget that scene showing the aftermath of the massacre Sephiroth did to the AVALANCHE troops. Holy shit...
(Sorry for the quality, it's the best I could get)
If the game wasn't restricted by ratings and graphics, this would probably look way worse... And If you didn't already know that Sephiroth isn't as graceful as he looks, well, now you do. To me, it seemed like he always fought aggressively anyways, judging from how he fought in the OG FF7, CC and the Dissidia games. Though, in his boss fight in 7R, his fighting style seemed more refined. Perhaps he let his emotions take the reign when fighting? Or is it just a part of his adapted god seeker identity post-Nibelheim? I also think it's clear that whether it's Pre or Post Nibelheim Sephiroth, the man has little to no mercy for his enemies. He's downright ruthless.
On a side note, I'm super annoyed that Before Crisis was only in Japan and only for a certain type of phone... Why was a major game in the FF7 franchise so inaccessible? Looks like SE learned their lesson somewhat with EC. Seriously, stop with the gacha nonsense, pleaseš
