i firmly believe the fastest way to learn about someone is by looking at their bookcase. and not just in a booktok readingcore way, but like. how they organize their books. is it alphabetical? by favorites? do they have any full sets? are they worn and bent with writing in the margins, or new and pristine with the dust covers still on? do they have other things on the shelves - toys, figures, bookends... or even "non-book" books, like scrapbooks, journals, photo albums, textbooks, notebooks? is there dust on the shelves or is it wiped clean? which books look brand new, and which ones look like they've been opened a hundred times? are there only big books, or thin paperbacks, or a mix? do they have matching sets, or a mixture of editions? is their bookcase mostly empty, or is it double-stuffed full? etc like. do you get what im saying here
