REALLY REALLY WILD to think about how ten years ago today some guy whose blog I really enjoyed finally followed me back and now we're coming up on our first wedding anniversary. Thanks, Tumblr. You really are a hellsite but I owe you so much.
Scribe and I had a fairly traditional Jewish wedding so we didn't do vows but we DID write a ketubah together and that's sort of the same thing. Sort of.
Anyway the "wherever you go I will go" that we put in there in honor of Ruth and Naomi is sometimes literal (Rhode Island) but also sometimes more figurative (3am, fervently attempting to finish an alien rock puppet).
Such is queerplatonically married life I guess.
Happy 10 year (!!) Gravity Falls finale anniversary. Get punched, idiot.
Today is @scribefindegil and I's first wedding anniversary, which is making me sappy about queerplatonic love, and also reminded me that I had at one point intended to post the seven short readings we chose to accompany each of the Sheva Brachot during our ceremony.
Tossing them all under a cut, along with the relevant translations of the blessings we decided to use, by Gray Myrseth (chosen from a list provided by my wonderful rabbi, and which we later found out were the same ones she used at her own wedding!)
The world is somehow an even scarier place than it was a year ago, but I am so grateful to have my partner and friends by my side and am feeling really fond recalling how many of us were gathered together to celebrate last March. I miss those of you who live a good distance away very much, and I hope you know how much joy it brought me & Scribe both to have you out here with us.
In any case. The tumblr mutuals to literal spouses pipeline is real and good and so is my love for my friends. <3

Been a while in getting photos up, but I thought it was high time I shared some more photos from @scribefindegil and I's wedding a few weeks ago.
It was genuinely a magical time, in large part due to the many wonderful people we know who celebrated with us. In a time where it's very hard to see the light, I was particularly deeply touched to have so many people we love together in one place.
We had seven brief readings as a part of our ceremony (one for each of the traditional Sheva Brachot), but the final one, which my sister so kindly read for us, really managed to encompass so many of my thoughts on this moment:
"The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater." -The Fellowship of the Ring, J.R.R. Tolkien
Here's to getting queerplatonically married to someone you met on tumblr.com -- and inviting a bunch of mutuals to the wedding. <3
For the most part the word "partner" is very helpfully ambiguous as an aro person in a long-term, queerplatonic relationship, and I rarely find myself even considering using words with more traditionally romantic connotations. But ever since Scribe and I got engaged I do occasionally tell people she's my fiancée and it's entirely because my brain appends it with "...like from Dracula."
Anyway. My earlier crisis aside, look at our cute new sheets.
