We had our first read-through today. Hearing the lines out-loud reaffirmed what an amazing script this really is. It's about so much more than the tragic fate of an elephant from 100 years ago. The tone and themes of this play ring just as true today as they ever have. This could be the most challenging, and rewarding, role I've ever played. Even now, before rehearsals have officially started, I can say with conviction that everyone who can should see this production.
