a collection of archives from alterhuman communities that existed on the now-defunct yahoo! groups mailing list service
@aestherians has kindly given me the files she was able to collect from the yahoo! scrapes. now they live on this site, and i can kindly give them to you too.
we currently have 18 groupsā archives. thereās also a brief explanation as to what these actually are and how to view them. i hope that theyāll be an asset to the communities for a long time to come āļø
(also, open call for anyone else who might have an archive squirreled away somewhere - iād love to expand the collection.)

I'm going to just. Pretend Elenari was this year since Jan 2 was technically the first time I drew her.
Elenari is a Norn-In-Training: after 1000 years of adolescence she will graduate to a being beyond ordinary persons and become one of the three hands of Fate who direct the lives of everyone in the universe. It's a pretty daunting job, which is why her childhood lasts so long. She gets to observe humanity up close and learn about how everything EVER works. The current Norns assigned Gail the task of raising her since Gail has a connection with Fate and can see a few threads at a time. Elenari, on the other hand, will learn not only to see the threads but to weave with them.
She's pretty reserved and intellectual, preferring not to get close to people because she knows she will have to watch everyone she loves live their lives and die. She's also very curious and tends to talk to her house like it's alive, inadvertently giving it a bit of a soul.
Her best friend in early childhood is her adopted sister Avril, but the only people she can kinda grow old with are Asgardians etc. She thinks her mother (Gail) is the coolest ever, and takes after her in personality, but she's the most attached to her dad (Loki), and looks more similar to him.

===One of the issues we sadly came across with the peer-checked Gnosis is that some folks have a bit of issues that result in forming unhealthy mindsets in the now. The Listari I know of kinda wentā¦.ERMā¦.noā¦and faded back a bit to out own self-work. (Amusingly, this fits well with out shared mythos of isolating ourselves from a Tulari screw up of epic proportionsā¦.the personality traits DO seem to carry over.) A number of us were active in sharingā¦.quite a bit..at first. Thenā¦.the editing started.
===Most Listari and a couple of the other sorts tend to be quieter about memories unless we are physically in the same spaceā¦and then there tends to be a bit of the āelf-babbleā that kinda just happens. We do not think the āwordsā ARE the languageā¦but they seem to act as a carrier for other sorts of info. We also tend to react and just know when something is ārightā.
===I consider Nornoriel to feel of a similar current, but definitely not the same place. I respect the silver elves to be of here, manifesting a current like mine, butā¦not.

Similarities and differences between Elves that are Of Here (or at least Earth-sideways) and those that are Of Way Elsewhere is interesting...
One of my observations over the years is that Elenari, or at least some strains of Elenari, seem to have trouble adjusting to life on Earth. Like there's just Something that resonates in a weird way between their feel and Earth's feel and can produce uncomfortable friction? Which I think is one of the things that has manifested itself in various schisms among the community... I was reading last night some old Usenet posts from 1998 about the first Thresholds, and the split between the PA one and the one in Ohio, though I wasn't privy to the nature of the disagreement between you on the one side and sade and Syleniel (then Sileniel) on the other... but it just seems to me that a fair amount of community bad blood has one Elenari participant or another, and I've often wondered if there's a reason for it other than chance...
for NaNo Iām attempting to recreate two worlds that havenāt existed in hundreds of years based on legend and memory.
