Hi there! In case you didn’t know, I’m Ludo, and I co-host the tumblr song contest Elementvision with my bro Ari (@weareeurovisiun). I didn’t televote this year but I wanted to give some love to my top 5 with this post!
Overall, I want to thank everyone who participated in the contest this year! It means so much to me and I was introduced to so many lovely songs, there truly wasn’t a single entry that I didn’t love. The postcards were so much fun to create and I loved reading everyone’s reasons for why they chose their songs!
There were, however, a few songs that I just couldn’t stop listening to, and I’d love to give them a shoutout and tell you all why I love them! So without further ado, here’s my Top 3!
1. #66FF99 (Lydia) with Pork Soda by Glass Animals
I’m so surprised that this didn’t do better in the contest! I think it’s a masterpiece, I love the lyrics, the story, the beat, the quirkiness, the vocals- the whole damn package. I listened to it nonstop for several hours on a stuck bus, so that tells you something.
2. #006398 (Nitesh) with Tell Me You Know by Good Kid
HOLY CRAP I love this. Such a feel-good beat with a self-deprecating lyric set, that’s my jam. I’m petitioning my local karaoke bar to put this on the track list, it’s the kind of song I want to perform.
3. #FFCC00 (Ajit) with You Win Again by the Bee Gees
This is so catchy, I love singing along to it. There’s nothing I didn’t love about this song! Such a pleasure to listen to.
