It just so happens that people, and all the deceits and delusions that inform everything they do, tend to be the most fascinating puzzles of all. Of course, they don’t always appreciate being seen as such.

yeah thats like. p much the only thing i knew about mandarin, which is why i figured it'd be a lot harder, even if his... probably most other languages he doesnt know but speak on the show are also p atrocious

but yeah regardless: oh dear. (i mean obvs the actor can't be as good at languages as Actual Sherlock, but. still. oh dear)

the only other language i know even marginally well enough to recognize if it’s being mangled is Japanese, so most of his attempts at other languages, however bad, will probably go over my head. but i feel like i’ve already done my suffering listening to his Mandarin.
