Elemental Profile: Oganesson
Element 118 on the periodic table, oganesson, has one hundred and eighteen protons and electrons. A synthetic element, aganesson can only be found on Earth in the particle accelerators used to produce it. It has only one known radioisotope which has a half-life of around 890 microseconds.
On the periodic table, oganesson technically falls into the p-block transactinide elements as a member of the noble gases, however not enough experiments have been carried out on the element to confirm that it follows the trends of the elements that come before it.
