Part One
While the stragglers were now finishing up with finding the keys, the overhead intercom system went off and a male voice could be heard.
"Good afternoon, incoming and current students of Elemental Castle. We thank you for an excellent first day of classes, practicing the elements and mental puzzles, and we hope you have felt welcomed by all on this day. As the evening comes to a close, I would like to invite you all to join me and the other staff in our Lounge Area, found near the cafeteria, for dinner, pastries, tea, and dancing, as you please. The lounge area will be open to students until about 10 PM, so if you have no other plans, feel free to come and enjoy yourselves!"
The intercom clicked, indicating the speech was done.
Evie looked at Audrey and Wayland, and then peered up at Jericho. "Would you like to go?" She asked, anticipating Jericho's answer to be no, but Wayland and Audrey may feel differently. She thought it may be a good opportunity to meet some new people, as exhausted as she may be..and she also wanted to go earlier than later, as 8 PM was around her bedtime.
Scarlett smiled slightly at Maksim's excessive enthusiasm, and after listening to the announcement, turned to face him. "We could go to that and see how that is, and then maybe 'go on the town', as you put it?"
Audrey pursed her lips, already knowing her answer was no, but waiting to see what the others would come back with.
Holly and Lawrence met up (Lawrence unwillingly), and Holly interlocked arms with Lawrence as they began to head to the lounge area. How bad could it be? it's better than hanging around aimlessly in a school where you know almost nobody. Lawrence remained stoic, not giving much emotion or consent to go to this event at all.
