i donāt know who makes these decisions but i want to send them a strongly worded letter and wag my finger at them condescendingly
liz i like both hisoka AND pariston (yes, i know, i love the filthy nasty garbage boys) but why does pariston still feel like a more awful character even though comparatively he's done less like uhhhh murder? can you explain? can science explain?

pariston is extremely dishonest. his words contradict his actions and he always dances around peopleās accusations when heās called out. we know heās up to no good but we donāt know exactly what or why. itās strongly implied that heās responsible for the drastic increase in missing (most likely dead) hunters and he just waves it off. paristonās position of power, combined with his sleaziness, lack of morality, and scheming is much closer to real evils in our worldā¦ it really hits home.
and then we have hisoka, who on the other hand is completely upfront about being utter garbage. hisoka doesnāt hide anything ā he tells people to their face what his abilities are and also that he wants to murder them. yeah we have some questions about hisoka (why is he the way he is?) but overall we we basically know what his deal is. he also has his own set of rules that he plays by and will even help the protags if it interests him. if pariston was playing dodgeball on gonās team he would have ensured theyād lose.
