1. I already knew the outcome of that fight before it aired because anytime we have a Namor Vs Aquaman battle, it’s basically a popularity contest and Aquaman would win so it’s no surprise honestly. What does surprise me is how they decided that Aquaman would be able to take over Namor’s mind when Namor has a extremely strong willpower and it would not be so easy to control him especially when he was in his strongest element. It took Doctor Doom time to break down Namor’s will power and finally be able to take over his mind with the purple man’s aid, he even had to keep Namor away from water for a long time because he knew that the one person who could foil his plans was the Sub-Mariner. Marvel Graphic Novel #27 Still Namor was able to break free of that the moment he had water. You can’t keep calling it a close battle when you downplay one opponent and ignore one’s strengths and also the fact that Namor can fly should have been a bigger factor. So Deathbattle was just another popularity contest.

2. Namora has not been shown to have great control over other sea life, however it seems she can talk to or at least persuade some sea life to aid her like they did in her 2010 comic Namora. Where a whale aided her with saving some sailors who were dying in their sub-marine from lack of oxygen.

ie/ Emily is stronger and faster (and younger), but Evie uses her wiles and experience to barely scrape a victory by the skin of her teeth.
