So I went through ECT 7 years ago — that’s shock therapy, for those that don’t know.
Yes, it’s real.
Anyways it was pretty cool. You’d go and sit in a dentist-style chair and they’d put a rubber thing in your mouth to prevent you from biting your tongue off and hook your head up with all kinds of electrodes while they strapped every part of your body down and then stick a needle in you. It’s like you can FEEL the liquid flowing through you and you get warm and real sleepy immediately after. They tell you to count back from 10, you’d make it to 7 and get knocked out and it was just so nice and peaceful. Six hours later you wake up with a migraine, throwing up, and if you’re lucky, new pants because you’ve pissed yourself. Then you go home.
In case you wondered.
