After ages of my cousin begging me to watch it, I finally started it. I've seen Gravity Falls and Adventure Time and I always felt a little left out in the fandom because almost everyone also watched SU. Anyway, now I won't feel left out! I'm about 20 episodes in and I love it! It's just so cute! And I love the Gems, specially Garnet, and I adore Connie. The freaking colour palette is gorgeous, and the music is beatiful. My favourite episodes so far are Giant Woman (Opal was beautiful and so was the song! I loved being introduced to new concepts and powers the Gems have) and So Many Birthdays (that was freaking heartbreaking and it was only episode 13!), and maybe Steven the Sword Fighter (I love Pearl, and I love how they explored her relationship with Steven and how much it actually means, and just the themes about loss were handled perfectly). I really like the themes about childhood and entering adulthood. It specially resonates in me because I am in the process of becoming an adult and it's terrifying. I'm loving the series' mythos and how they're gradually revealing more about Steven's mom (which I can't wait for!) and just how powerful the Gems are. Also, the theme song is so damn catchy! I love it. This was meant to be a short compilation of my thoughts and introduction of the show, but I always manage to ramble on and on. Anyway, I'm excited to continue watching!
