The town of Dark City has been laid to ruin by the Pokemon equivalent of a dojo rivalry. Yas and Kaz are two would-be Gyms each seeking official League sponsorship, but who can only become this town's official Pokemon Gym by first destroying the other. And so their endless battles have destroyed much of the town.

This is a really neat concept. Kaz uses Electabuzz as their signature Pokemon. So, naturally, Yas's signature is Electabuzz's version rival Magmar Scyther? Um. Okay. Scyther's Flying type means this isn't much of a rivalry. Kaz wins.

(Though, also, I hate to tell Kaz this, but Kanto already has an Electric Gym so there's zero chance they get certified. At least Yas's Bug Gym has a reason to exist.)

Eleboo and Booburn continue the fight atop the destined mountain, continuing the friendly rivalry between two tribes. After learning from their respective masters, they both aim to become the fabled evolved form.

Eleboo’s lightning rods attract lightning during storms. The ions in the lightning charge Eleboo to full power and beyond. Now, its punches hit harder, its kicks are swifter and its scream is rough, loud and echoed. It’s a powerhouse, and this is’nt even it’s final form.
