It feels like so long ago now. Gathering Storm seems an age ago. There was a time I actually was optimistic and thought it would herald good things.

Man, everything slipped back into a status quo quickly, didn't it? Here we are just short a decade later and all that promise just subsided into the same old same old "Imperium wins, Imperium wins, Imperium wins,"

Imperium Sanctus we were told was secured by the very first Plague Wars novel, Imperium Nihilus saw every major battle be an Imperium victory, Vigilus saw Abaddon humiliated for the umpteenth time, Octarius saw the war somehow end and despite being told for years that such a result would immediately spell major defeats for the Imperium instead the Imperium just, as always, maintained the advantage and lost nothing, a second Primarch returned, Angron got his ass kicked, Fulgrim did shit, Magnus and his entire legion got their shit kicked in on their own homeworld by one ship of Marines, Leviathan returned only to lose (again) and in the upcoming lore only an absolute idiot would not already know that the Silent King is going to get his ass handed to him, probably whilst Cawl reveals at the same time he's already perfectly surpassed all Necron technologies.

And today I learned that apparently the Ynnari have now been practically axed. Apparently, the Phoenix Lords have dumped them, Lelith has dumped them, Eldrad has dumped them-

ELDRAD HAS DUMPED THEM?! ELDRAD ULTHRAN? THE MAN WHO LITERALLY STARTED THE ENTIRE PLOT? THE DUDE WHO LITERALLY CAUSED IT ALL? WHO HAD AN ENTIRE CAMPAIGN SUPPLEMENT OF HIMSELF BEING CURBSTOMPED BY DEATHWATCH TO TRY TO AWAKEN YNNEAD?!

His entire story for the past decade-and-a-half and he's just like 'nah, sorry, my bad, later,' and that's it. No big development. No important event. Just nopes out and its done.

If you EVER needed any evidence that GW solely created the Ynnari plotline as a way to resurrect Guiliman and boost the Marines here it is. After almost a decade they have done NOTHING with them since and have basically just retired the entire plotline.

What was the point in any of this? Why even have Xenos plotlines?

Tyranid and Orks are just losing their umpteenth wars, Ghazghkull probs about to lose to Cato Sicarius and Swarmlord about to be killed by a Scout at this point.

Necrons about to be completely demolished by a video game character.

T'au having every single interesting thing about them stripped away because the entire fandom despises them and Eldar just continuing to be the greatest failures in the history of fiction.

Did Ahriman also just decide that Yvraine resurrecting the Rubricae wasn't actually interesting?

And now that we have 2 Primarchs back we KNOW there will be more. Get ready for Leman Russ to single-handedly crush Szarekh into a ball and dunk on him literally, get ready for Jagahatai Khan to single-handedly destroy all of Commorragh in one night, Get ready for Ghazghkull to become a Beast and then Vulkan instantly curbstomps him.

Did anything good in lore happen for Xenos even ONCE in the time I've been gone? Did they win ANYTHING?
