perched on the furthest end of the sofa, the seer watches the hearth. she listens to the way the fire crackles, appreciates the warm glow it casts in the room. she's quietly basking in the presence of the others in the crowded drawing room. she speaks when spoken to, engages in conversation with a smile. but elain is equally content just sitting here. listening, observing, watching. always watching.

she swears she feels a pull. was it the shadows? her gaze lifts, connecting with the spymaster across the room. even from here she swears she can see the gold dancing amongst hazel hues. those eyes. those beautiful, intriguing eyes. they hold so much. so much she wants to know. she offers him a soft smile.
