could this be the grave of enhekala/nekkad? if it is, it's thousands of years old. but this is eora. a millennia old tree would not surprise me. that godless gravestone placement feels very deliberate, regardless.

can't stop thinking about the ekida and their fate.
i especially can't stop thinking about kishamal and their city and their city's destruction. and how it's because of kishamal that i chose that godlike feature for my envoy.
i can't stop thinking about how the ekidans dressed. or about how colorful those drab brown ruins would have been if they'd still had their wonderful frescoes.
and i can't stop thinking about the rift between tradition and adaption in ekidan society. and how they must have diverged so spectacularly away from their kin in yezuha. how that reunion would have gone if they'd ever had the chance.
and i can't stop thinking about how woedica cut it all short before the bud even began to flower.
i honestly feel so much affinity and affection for sapadal and the ekida. even if sapadal isn't entirely forthright.
especially as someone who always always always picks the living lands as my watchers' backgrounds. in a meta sense it is a really good feeling to have chosen the living lands for one of my characters while the living lands did the choosing for another.
and i didn't think i'd actually ever end up preferring godless ruins to engwithan ones, but naku tedek and naku kubel are gorgeous. plus they have the advantage of having those gorgeous murals. now knowing the story of why the ekida disappeared they also have this added layer of melancholy.
Spoilers for Avowed
I'm very sad we can't choose to call the Ekida their actual name instead of the Godless when we've uncovered one of the ancient memories. Especially that
I feel, so far, that there's not enough dialogue options that use the knowledge we've gained from our communication with Sapadal.
I'm in the Shatterscarp rn and I've got Yatzli in my party, there's so much I wish I could talk to her about considering she researches the Ekida!
There's a huge disconnect between me and my character. I understand well what Sapadal means when she speaks, and I understand even better what the ancient memories mean.

thats pretty spooky
