“Emily,” the woman called, laughing. “Help me with the burgers? I think Frank and Billy will eat them all before they get set on the table.”  @eiiidetic gets a starter from maria castle!

𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓          𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐒          𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐓          𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐒.          an     act     of     adrenaline     &     thrill     splashes     within     veins.          dance      of      figure      in      a      r  u  s  h      above      the      air      escaping      death      that      followed      only      seconds      before      gaze        coated        in        terror        lands        upon        abandoned        building        that        provides        s  a  f  e  t  y.          harsh        push        of        familiar        door        as        young        features        slip        inside.          breathing        is        still        heavy        &        air        struggles        reaching        vital        organs        twisting        within        chest        as        nerves        are        attacked        by        sudden        loss        of        control        encircled        in        previous        events.                     ❛                   𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝      𝚠𝚊𝚜      𝚜𝚘      𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚎      !          bill      sent      me      out      with      some      of      the      older      boys      &      then      the      men      we      were      supposed      to      steal      from      ,      𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕪      𝕗𝕚𝕘𝕦𝕣𝕖𝕕      𝕦𝕤      𝕠𝕦𝕥      &           ─                     ❜                    ony      when      realization      hits      &      ocean      eyes      sparkling      with      fear      land      upon      two      individuals      instead      of      one      ,      a      sharp      pain      cuts      through      flesh       of       abdomen      allowing      crimson      liquid      to      penetrate      through      fabric.          teeth      dance      against      lower      lip      like      he’s      trying      to      swallow      the      words      already      hanging      on      the      surface.                     ❛                    .     .     .          uh     ,     𝚑𝚎𝚢     𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎.                     ❜

he grabs two fresh bottles of beer, uncaps both, gives frank a nod and ignores the look of knowing disappointment on the other man’s face as he saunters his way over to emily and her new friend. she’s laughing --- but it’s one of those polite, respectful laughs. not genuine. the kid’s too oblivious to know the difference.  ❝ what’s so funny? ❞  he grins, eyebrows arching over his sunglasses, one arm lifting to lazily drop an arm over emily’s shoulders as he hands her one of the beers. turning, he presses his mouth to her temple ( a universal message that she’s taken --- thankyouverymuch. even if he’ll never make it official. )  ❝ i like laughin.’ ❞  the kid stutters, his ears turning pink, and to billy’s utmost pleasure, he makes the mistake of stuttering out his name. a quick ‘it was nothing mr. russo --- billy, sir.’ he smirks, spine straightens, arm eases further around emily’s shoulder, beer danging from his fingers as he delivers the most satisfying of death blows.  ❝ lieutenant. ❞  he corrects, the arm that’s holding his beer and curled around his girl’s shoulder curling so he can take a sip, inadvertently pulling the brunette closer.  ❝ you making friends, baby? ❞  turning down to finally look at emily, he’s already decided that the verbal lashing he’s about to receive will be well worth it.          /         @eiiidetic​   +   ta daaaaaaa

 ❝   mad?  no.  not at all.   ❞    softness returns to tone,  confusion briefly flickering through her as peridot eyes return to  @eiiidetic​ .    ❝   I’m a ‘process things on the inside’ type when I’m in public.  I’m sorry.  I didn’t mean it to come across as cold   -   it’s just...   easier to think things over that way.   ❞

❝ ---- and then he just like, disappeared. some guy came over, said something about a call, and that was it. it’s been radio silence for weeks, em. ❞  irritated, her fingers rake through her hair as she exhales a heavy breath, dropping the small stack of memorabilia back into the box she’s supposed to be unpacking.  ❝ and like, i knew this was a thing with military guys, you know? like the flirty, oh i’m hot and charming and look at my biceps and also i save the world in my spare time --- but i thought they at least waited a couple months before they ghosted. ❞          /          @eiiidetic​   +   kinda plotted things.

             ❛  isn’t this against the rules,  or do you get special fed exemptions?  ❜   brow arches as she signs.  when she opened the door she had expected the marshal.  but she isn’t disappointed by the sight of the other woman instead.  she’s still settling in and it’s comforting to see some kind of familiar face.  she isn’t likely to see her friends again.  she’ll take what she can get.  the small smile on her lips falters before she adds with a touch of uncertainty  ❛   or is this visit for fed business.  ❜
