there's something disarming about the rink, it robs lola of most of her usual grace, makes her earn it back with each careful slide of her skates. one foot and then the other. the catsuit she's in is warm, but unforgiving. it hugs her body like a second skin, keeps the worst of the chill away. her first moves are tentative (less swan, more baby duck) but her body remembers more than she gives it credit for. there's a strange vulnerability at doing this in front of chase, but she'd asked for it and she'd obliged. "you're not allowed to laugh--not even a giggle fontaine-- i swear to god-- " she glares playfully at chase, can almost feel his amusement as she finally gets a good rhythm, and then she's moving (more than one foot at a time, less careful than before). she squeals in excitement and beams at chase, she's leaking joy, all over the ice. "I am the ice princess--" she manages a clumsy stop in front of him, stopping just short of crashing into his chest. she beams up at him, a wide open smile--so unlike the kind they'd traded in half lit bars, there's no real music, no whiskey, just her, looking up at him. "admit it, i'm a prodigy."
