in future years, egg week will likely continue to be held during the last week of november, leading up to our beloved ms. thomas’s birthday on the 29th. leah’s birthday is the original reason we picked that time period back in 2017.

as for doing a whole month, i did make a prompt list for eggtober™ back in 2020 (it can be found in the #info tag), and i’d be perfectly happy to make another one this year :)

also, if you have some fan content related to bynmm or leah’s other works that you’d like me to reblog here, feel free to tag @blunderkinder and i will do so without hesitation! beyond that, if you have specific ideas for further events, shoot me a dm (preferably on my main blog @anhedoniacity but here works too) and i will do what i can to bring them to life!

Today’s prompt is pretty self-explanatory! Several different animals show up throughout BYNMM and NNY, and they are frequently both important to the story and also just adorable. Ollie’s beloved cat Dorian Gray comes to mind, as does the Arana household menagerie.

This is a pretty obvious prompt for an epistolary novel, ha! However, in addition to the meaning that pertains to letters, “correspondence” can also be found in character foils and themes. Molly and Moritz are one example. Bridget and Arthur are another. Heck, even the Michigan woods and Kreiszig share a certain description of loneliness. So feel free to take this prompt at face value, or alternatively:

a non-biologically related group of people established to provide ongoing social support; the group of people in an individual's life that satisfies the typical role of family as a support system

We’re more than halfway through this year’s Egg Week! Today’s prompt is incredibly important in multiple ways. Families of choice play a huge role in most if not all of Leah’s works.

Sometimes a family is a bunch of genetically damaged kids scattered across the earth. Sometimes a family is three siblings, their mother, and the morally-ambiguous alien that stands in for their dad.

Sometimes a family is a bunch of teenagers on Tumblr who are drawn to each other due to their mutual affection for a book, and spend an entire summer voice chatting into the early hours of the morning on discord. Thank you, Leah, for bringing us together.
