B U N G A R A Y A M A K A N With good news on the health front for Mauri, Uncle arranged a makan for him and Larry at Bunga Raya, our favourite Malaysian eatery out New Lynn way. Instagram forges a lot of social interaction and Uncle is pleased to be able to finally meet his friends in person. We had our favourite Nyonya dishes: Ling Collar Vermicelli Soup, with Kiam Chye to add piquancy. The Nyonya Chicken Curry is the Matriach’s Susan Lim’s signature dish. The rempah spice mix is her forte and this permeates through all the curries and curry based dishes Bunga Raya is famous for. We can detect some of the rempah in the other dish, the house-made egg tofu, which was silky smooth in its consistency. Sedap!
