Hornet’s five years old in this AU; she’s not paying a ton of attention to the specifics of Herrah’s plans. What she does pay attention to are these details:

-Her mom’s not entering the eternal magic coma like she was originally going to. That means that Hornet’s not about to lose her mom forever.

-Her mom’s taking repeated trips out of Deepnest, which means that Hornet gets to see more of the world than she has. And she gets to meet more bugs who, unlike the spiders of her home, cannot stick to walls and Weave better than she can, which means she doesn’t feel incomplete around them like she often does back at home.

So, whatever Herrah’s plan is, lil’ Hornet is ecstatic. As for the new baby sibling, well,

She might be Hornet, self-proclaimed guardian and one of the most well-meaning people in the game, but she’s also a bratty little kid who sees strength as a virtue. This crybaby who can’t fight, can’t talk, and is hogging all of Mom’s attention is uniquely irritating to her, even as she is ready to defend them with her life.

does this mean tc would be going back on their claim that 'every playthrough is canon' since there's One ending where it'd be impossible for hornet to have a postgame campaign?

I have personally never heard the ‘every playthrough is canon’ thing but if you treat it as multiple splitting timelines it still holds

probably around 40-50 minutes :)
