It was a sunny morning with a nice breeze, the crackling of dying fires of the crashed ship seemed to fade to a background echo. There was a brief sound of combat only a few moments ago that eventually turned into casual conversation, the trudging footsteps in the sand were beginning to grow closer until three figures could be easily seen, a Half-Elf woman wearing medium armor with black hair, a Human male in purple robes with brown hair, and a surprisingly tall Half-Elf woman in dark green robes with frizzy blonde hair. The green-robed woman was clearly the leader as she took charge with a big smile, clearly the helpful type.

Astarion waited in the shrubbery off the beaten path leading away from the crashed wreck of the Nautiloid, still blazing and smoldering gently in the distance. Getting out of there had given him the scare of his life, fleeing the fires and intellect devowerers and mind flayers (oh my) into the light of day... And realising he wasn't aflame himself. He spent a good long while puzzling, basking, and though he was careful to make sure no one saw, briefly shedding a tear at feeling the light on his face for the first time in centuries.
But now, he needed answers.
He had heard that gaggle approaching from the wreckage with all the decorum and stealth of a herd of elephants. Their leader... the same person he saw skulking around aboard. Who knew something about his condition. Who may well have perpetrated it...
He waited until they neared, before positioning himself in the grass. The half-elf seemed to notice him but appeared at least a little trepiditious. Maybe there was some brain left in there after all... "Hurry, I've got one of those 'brain things' cornered."
"There, in the grass. You can kill it it can't you? Like you killed the others."
