Watched a video about eggcorns (misheard phrases that still hold the same meaning) recently and it got me thinking of one of my own from when I was a kid that I actually think I might like better than the original? I used to think people using the phrase, if you can call it that, "Oh well" (most often said in trailing, defeated, but also accepting sort of way) were actually saying "All well" or "All's well." I had intuited that they were shortening the phrase "All's well that ends well" and that by saying it they were implying "this sucks right now, but it'll turn out okay" or "I accept this defeat and will carry on anyway."

“Eggcorn” is a word or phrase that sounds like and is mistakenly used in a seemingly logical or plausible way for another word or phrase.
For example, many people say “for all intensive purposes” instead of the real saying “for all intents and purposes”

Spotting this early will stop embarrassment at school, no child should be picked on for something they can’t help. Oftentimes teachers will believe that these children are ‘lacking behind’ or just simply being silly, when in reality it is their color blindness that is the problem.
Spotted “lacking behind” for “lagging behind” on a website about how to recognize colorblindness in children. A quick goog for the term shows it’s a somewhat widespread eggcorn. The internal logic is easy to see for this one, “lacking” meaning the person is missing something, perhaps a skill or some knowledge.
I saw “pedal stool” for pedestal the other day and I was shocked. Was really hoping that was a one-timer.
The first time I heard the phrase "prima donna" as a kid, I thought it was "pre-Madonna." If someone said someone else was acting like a prima donna, I thought that meant they were pretending to be Madonna or trying to copy her success, like they were a Madonna Wannabe
