As you can see I am running weekend marathons of going to London - Last two three weeks I was there already twice, and this week I am going on MCM Comic-Con! I’m enjoying last month in here to the fullest.
So what was going on last Saturday? I went to see my sister, who was in London for her school trip - unfortunately they were In Greenwich when I got to London Victoria, so to get there took me another 50 minutes. They were about to get on the ship to the centre to London, so I managed to speak with her just for few minutes (genuinely, it was about 4 or 5 minutes together).
She seemed to be happy. I liked seeing her enjoying a metropolitan city I love so much.
Then I needed to rush back to the centre and to Notting Hill Gate. I was already few minutes late, EF students with coordinator were waiting for me.
I met again Meli and Tami, together with another guy (sorry, I don’t remember name). The coordinator was supposed to be Giulia, but because of personal reasons she couldn’t come. Instead, we met another great EF woman, Sandy.
She walked with us down to the Portobello street market, where we visited a turkisch restaurant. I ordered a kebab chicken meat with rice. It tasted amazing. I also tried kus-kus and another typical meal for this country, which we ordered for everyone.
Afterwards we got to the centre of the street and we found the Electric Cinema. We had some time spared, so the coordinator told us to have a walk while she is sorting out something. We walked down the street. It was different to the Camdem Market Place - more food and stores with ancient artifacts than alternative shops for steampunkers and metalheads. It was fun though, but a bit short.
We got together in front of the cinema again. When we entered, we had such a great view. The hall was old, and instead of normal chairs you had armchairs with footrests in front of them. That felt so comfortable. You could take as much sweets and popcorn as you want, and you got it still for free.
After a half an hour of watching adverts and trailers the movie finally started. We were watching Mad Max: The Fury Road. The movie was excatly what I expected - small story with a lot of action in it, great GC and masks. Postapocalyptic world, action, fast cars, shooting, booooms. Great movie to relax.
Afterwards we came back to Notting Hill Gate station, where the coordinator let us go. It was nice to meet her, and she was hoping we will see each other on the Farewall days. We decided to pop up to Oxford street - the guy with us wanted to go shopping. He abadonded this idea quite fastly. We ended up in the Hyde Park, all four of us sitting on the grass. It has been a long time since I could actually sit on the grass in Hyde Park without feeling frozen or cold.
Me and Tami were Slovakians, the guy and Meli were Germans - this meant we talked in pairs in our original languages :D We didn’t mind, it was nice to tak Slovak with someone.
In the end he needed to catch a train, so we went by underground to our train stations. We had to say goodbye to each other in the train in underground, and that was basically the end.
So yeah, that was it. I would repeat this day as every other I’ve experienced here.
