I guess their is shadow milk / white lily parallels but what do you think of the statement ‘White Lily should have gotten the Light of Truth’
I (respectfully) disagree with the notion that Lily should've gotten the light of truth, though of course I see where it's coming from. But Lily's curiosity and stubbornness stems from her sense of freedom
Yes, it's all very similar to the light of truth, but all virtues are connected to one another
Lily and Pure Vanilla are MEANT to parallel each other. They basically have the same overall goal (helping and healing cookiekind), just different ways of pursuing that goal. Maybe I'll make another post explaining in more detail
Lily's arc was about trying to find the meaning of life, but her mistake is that she thought she needed someone else to assign her- and everyone else- a purpose, and that this would set everyone free. But living for someone else isn't freedom. Living life on your own terms, savoring every moment, and experiencing simply because you have free will and consciousness is freedom! Unfortunately, Lily learned this lesson a little too late, but at least she seems to understand that now
Now this? I find this beautiful. Staying alive is freedom! Making choices is freedom! And that includes seeking out the truth. After all, if someone knows absolutely everything, there's nothing to truly experience...
I see why people think she more so represents truth, but Lily as a personification of freedom means so, so much to me. The whole thing is a reminder of why we need to stay alive and live life to the fullest with the time we have left
