So, never really expected to be making a post like this, but here we are.Β
To summarize what the actual gofundme is saying, my band is currently trying to raise money so we can go to Serbia/Macedonia (mainly Serbia) to play folk music there, and to work with musicians there to learn more about the music as well as probably some new tunes (and participate in up to two music festivals!). This trip would mean the world to me, especially as someone who grew up around and listening to this kind of music, and would be a huge learning experience.

This kind of folk music is typically passed down through family, but a lot of it is dying out as less and less people are becoming musicians and/or are discouraged from being one and is relatively undocumented. If we can bring some of it back and learn it, we can carry on some of that.
