La Emergencia Ambiental de la planta de fosfoyeso de Piney Point en el Condado Manatee, mantuvo en vilo durante meses a residentes de la zona y a las autoridades. Comunidades enteras fueron evacuadas. Los negocios permanecieron cerrados durante días. Y Telemundo 49 desde el primer momento reportó cada parte del proceso, cada decisión, y estuvimos allí, dentro y fuera de la Planta, mientras las autoridades buscaban alternativas para evitar la catástrofe. Hoy ese esfuerzo, esos viajes a toda hora hasta los estanques de Piney Point, rinden un fruto positivo: el Reconocimiento a labor periodística de todo un equipo; los que estuvimos frente a cámara, y todos aquellos que detrás de cámara hicieron posible una Cobertura de excelencia, en medio de una pandemia.
