This activity seems simple, but it made our toddler thinks & talks. . . We printed a small photobook about his daily life, which includes going to the park, his daily activities as well as meeting relatives. . . This particular page in the photo book (left) shows the activity we had sometime back of sorting his toys. The moment he looked at this page, he said the name of each toy and search for the real ones outside the picture. Each and every one of them. . . Was a simple but very engaging activity. Since our toddler refused to sleep last night, I taught him on the different types of birds 🐦 . . He loves birds so much & always talk about them when we were at the park. So I believe it is a great time for him to learn calling them by specific names. . . His personal favourite was the eagle. He has been talking about the eagle non stop (even during bedtime). And it surprised me that his second favourite seems to be the crow 😯 . . I bought some coloured feathers from the stationery shop (art section), just to make him understand the concept of feathers (I've taught him about bird's feathers & beaks a few days back by showing him the pictures in an e-book). So I bought two feathers - 1 big & 1 little, with different colours (because our toddler loves to talk about size & colours). . . But it was our toddler's idea to match the feathers to the birds in the poster. When he received the two feathers, he instantly put the big white feather to the eagle (maybe because the eagle is big), and the black-gold feather to the crow (maybe because the crow is black). . . I've tried to convince him the big white feather might belong to the swan. But he didn't agree & still said it's the eagle's feather. I then suggest it might be the eagle's head feather, then he agreed 😆 . . I think we can already move on from learning about circles to spheres. Circle is his favourite word to say, shape to draw & act with his body parts at the moment. . . It's amazing how toddlers learn new concepts fast 😍 . . Ever since our first activity of differentiating animals & vehicles and sort them in 2 different boxes, our toddler loves to do this activity loadsss of time! . . On top of saying the name of the animal toys (big bear, little bear, big tiger, etc) each time he picked them up from the floor, he would also add the word "nimal" in the end before putting them in the animal box 😍 . . I am still waiting for the moment he would say the word "vehicle".
