My friends from Black Amethyst (classic metal from London) commissioned me to cover their new single "Reap Your Evil" and I was able to have fun and to play for a while with the beautiful style of 80's heavy metal covers, mainly influenced by the art of Ed Repka. And its always a pleasure to seize the opportunity to hit politicians and the (their?) media that keep polarizing us more and more.
***POSTAGEM ESPECIAL*** (For english post and the official final art go to @bside_khriztianleon to read and see it) 2020 tem sido um ano bastante complicado e com algumas folgas e respiros no meio do caminho e eu resolvi que não ia me derrubar e dentro de toda a m*rda que está acontecendo eu ia buscar algo bom e como aperfeiçoar meu trabalho de alguma maneira. O universo conspirou e um curso surgiu, um que se enquadrou perfeitamente nas minhas necessidades de me tornar melhor nas artes focadas em capas para clientes de bandas (rock/ metal) mercado editorial e de games... Uma área que venho explorando nos últimos tempos cada vez mais... Eis então que o @rafaeltavares.art surge no meu caminho! Um artista/ tatuador e capista que eu sou fã há anos! E que este ano, em virtude de pandemia e etc. resolveu criar um curso sobre sua metodologia de trabalho, focado em técnicas para horror e fantasy art, com foco nos quesitos que falei acima. Dei um jeito, apertei o cinto e me joguei de cabeça, principalmente por poder fazer parte da sua primeiríssima turma! Rafael foi simplesmente SENSACIONAL, e poder ter tido a chance de ser dos primeiros alunos dele, de conhecê-lo pessoalmente, chamá-lo de mentor, e ainda aprender essas técnicas e curso que para mim foram ouro não teve preço! Foram tantos pontos altos... Até nas mesmas fontes artísticas onde ambos bebemos, de tantos artistas foda como #EdRepka #JoeJusko #WesBenscoter #DanSeagrave #BorisVallejo #HRGiger e outros que nos inspiraram durante nossa vida e ainda inspiram... Tudo foram detalhes que tornaram estas últimas 8 semanas de curso incríveis e eu não tenho palavras que mensurem o quanto agradeço por hoje ter aprendido, entendido e interiorizado este novo processo de criação que culminou nesta arte da qual me orgulho tremendamente! Rafa, vc foi um grande divisor de águas. VALEU DEMAIS! Só tenho a agradecer e dizer a vocês que agora, bandas de rock/ metal e vertentes que tenham gostado deste resultado e tenham interesse em meu trabalho, está é sua chance, e é só me chamar inbox!
