Hi! Do you think I could ask what fonts you use in your edits, or what your fav font resource is? I love the ones you use so much! I'd understand though if you didn't want to share. Thanks in advance if you did! x
Hi anon, thanks SO MUCH for the ask, and don't fret! I'll gladly share the fonts with you, they're no secret! And a lot of them I've also found through other creators' work so I would be unfair if I didn't.
My go-to resource is DaFont.com, only very little do I download fonts from other sites. Time to time I search for font recs on Tumblr. And for the particular fonts, I will put them into categories by fandom for which I use them.
HIS DARK MATERIALS
Now, for my Kat Miller edits I did my own font from I think Verdana or Tahoma, or at least for the chapter updates header. But recently I've discovered a lovely font that resembles the TV show serrated font:
Brightness (by Vladimir Nikolic).
Otherwise I used Calibri as the secondary font and:
JMH Typewriter Dry or Bold, Tox Typewriter.
For subtitles I use Arial Bold Italic with a drop shadow.
STAR TREK
Gameover, Manaspace or essentially any pixel/bitmap font for the "system" texts. Roddenberry, Starcineāwhich is the DS9 mock font but not too well done. Starnext, for the Next Generation mock font.
For subtitles I use Arial Bold Italic with a drop shadow.
GRISHAVERSE
Britanie, HeavyRain, Kogaion, Kremlin Orthodox Church, Romanjo, RussianLand, TheRacoonQuest, Gottam, Slightly Marker. Then some random preinstalled serifed fonts, I think mostly Bookman Old Style.
For subtitles I use Arial Italic with a drop shadow.
PEAKY BLINDERS
Triumph Wheels, The Golgsmith Vintage, plus the aforementioned typewriter fonts.
THE WITCHER
These I discovered like literally yesterday for my first but not last Ane gifset and I am SO happy about them. 1742 French Civilite, Drunk Monk, Il Shake Fest, Italian Cursive 16th c., Magna Carta.
For the subtitles I use Arial Rounded on the bold and italic type setting in PS, with a drop shadow and outline.
STAR WARS
Aurebesh, naturally, in combination with I think Calibri as secondary font. In the link you'll find a ton of versions, including a handwritten one, which is badass af.
Sorry it took my so long to reply, but it was a heavy link hunt lmao. And I wanted to include the new medieval fonts bc they're pure love. Thank you once more for interacting, hope this helps!
